Log book
We need an authentic log book from the DVDL to perform a DVDL on a previous registered vehicle. A new vehicle to the island will need a DVDL inspection and a log book obtained.
Insurance
In order to perform a DVDL we need valid insurance with a policy number. This is a Legal obligation to the DVDL.
Dry roads
We have to do a brake test on the vehicle to pass the vehicle. Conditions have to be favorable. If it rains, we have to move the inspection to an other date.
Tint
Your vehicle must pass the tint exam to get a DVDL pass. This is the law. Please do not ask us to pass it with illegal tint. Date is here Link
Mechanically safe
Your vehicle must be mechanically safe to pass. This includes the following:
Tires, Suspension, Lights, Brakes, Engine Lights, Engine Performance, Mirrors, Seat Belts, Fluid Leaks, Horn, Exhaust, Air Bags (Tekata airbag recall), anything else that will make it not road worthy.
Ordering parts
If a vehicle has been found to be a fail at DVDL, you need to have the problems corrected before it can pass. In the past you could order parts and wait for them and pass the car, unfortunately this is no longer the case. All repairs must be done before passing the vehicle.
Fee
DVDL inspection is free. There is no charge for this service. Pick up and delivery will be charged if requested. But the pick up and delivery will be covered if any other service is combined with a DVDL.
